Anomaly
1, Browse Basin
Location:
Undrilled, Browse Basin
Top of HRDZ: ~ 400 ms
Pull-up: Low
Intensity: Low
Amplitude Anomalies: Minor
Area: Small
Data Degradation: Low
Shallow
amplitude anomalies, regions of reduced stack response and possible pull-up
suggest HRDZ formation on AGSO seismic line BBHR 175-08 in the Browse Basin
(Figs 9a and b). Irregularities on the seafloor may be carbonate mounds related
to the hydrocarbon seepage. A similar causal relationship between seepage and
carbonate mound formation has been proposed for seafloor mounds in the Timor Sea
(Hovland et al, 1994).
