Macedon
gas field, Carnarvon Basin
Field:
Macedon Gas Field
Location: Carnarvon Basin
Top of HRDZ: 400–500 ms
Pull-up: Moderate
Intensity: Moderate
Amplitude Anomalies: Weak
Area: Large
Data Degradation: High
A
series of intense HRDZs lie along faults above the Macedon Gas Field in the
Carnarvon Basin (Figs 15a and b). Pull-up and reduced stack response beneath the
anomalies increases the uncertainty in mapping and depth conversion. The
strongest anomalies occur near the intersection of different fault trends.
Macedon–4 almost drilled through one of the HRDZs (Fig. 15b).
